Strengthening Local Capacity for Sustainability
In today’s development landscape, resource mobilization is not just important — it is essential. It enables organizations to move beyond dependency, strengthen internal systems, and drive long-term, community-led solutions. For grassroots actors serving vulnerable populations, the ability to attract, manage, and sustain resources is what determines the depth and durability of their impact.
It is in this spirit that The Bakhita Initiative -JDPC Sokoto, alongside representatives from Save The Child Initiative (STCI), Freedom For Life Initiative (FFLI), and Young Useful Generation Initiative (YUGi), took part in a two-day Capacity Strengthening Training on Resource Mobilization from June 19 – 20, 2025.
The workshop was championed by CAFOD and Caritas Nigeria, and facilitated by:
Muzakkir M. Khamisu, Lead, Business Development, CAFOD
Igein E. Osas, Program Officer, ICS Unit, Caritas Nigeria
The training deepened participants’ knowledge in:
Donor mapping and engagement
Proposal writing and grant management
Local fundraising and sustainability strategies
Organizational readiness and resource accountability
This initiative reflects a shared commitment to empowering local actors to take ownership of their missions and drive community transformation with confidence and competence.
We extend our appreciation to CAFOD and Caritas Nigeria for their unwavering support in building local capacity for sustainable change.
