SOKOTO DIOCESE TREE PLANTING
The Catholic Diocese of Sokoto has launched a tree-planting initiative to promote environmental sustainability. Organized by the Bakhita Initiative (JDPC Sokoto), the ceremony took place at St. Patrick’s Illela Parish.
The event was graced by the presence of Very Rev. Fr. Nuhu Iliya, Vicar Administration, and JDPC staff members. Students from St. Patrick’s Schools Illela actively participated in the exercise, which aimed to combat desertification and restore nature to its former glory.
Twenty neem tree seedlings were planted in the school and parish grounds, marking a noble effort to protect the environment and promote sustainability. The participation of school students raises awareness and educates the next generation about environmental conservation.
The Catholic Diocese of Sokoto’s tree-planting initiative is a commendable step towards creating a better future for the community. May this effort inspire others to join in the quest to protect our environment.
