The Executive Director, along with staff from The Bakhita Initiative (JDPC Sokoto), visited St. Patrick’s Schools in Illela LGA , Sokoto State to commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child. During the event, the Child protection/Safeguarding Officer Margaret Amodu facilitated an interactive girl-to-girl session with approximately 70 girls, discussing the importance of the girl child in society, menstrual hygiene and building self esteem. The organization also distributed sanitary pads to the teenage girls and encouraged them to strive for academic excellence and to envision themselves as future leaders and reputable individuals in the Society.
