Following the successes recorded during the Kyautata Rayuwa Project<\/strong>, The Bakhita Initiative JDPC Sokoto<\/strong>, in partnership with Catholic Relief Services<\/strong>, is expanding its nutrition intervention to Kebbi State under the SPHERE Project (Kyautata Rayuwa II)<\/strong>, with support from Latter-day Saint Charities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of this expansion, The Bakhita Initiative played a key role in organizing a 4-day Training of Trainers (ToT)<\/strong> workshop aimed at strengthening local capacity for improved nutrition outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training brought together 25 key stakeholders<\/strong>, including representatives from health agencies, ward leaders, religious leaders, and partner organizations such as Helen Keller Intl<\/strong> and Jhpiego<\/strong>. Participants were equipped with practical knowledge and skills on Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (IMAM)<\/strong> and Maternal, Infant, and Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN)<\/strong>, alongside hands-on demonstrations on the preparation of Tom Brown pap<\/strong> as a nutritious complementary food.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By empowering local actors with the knowledge and tools needed to champion nutrition in their communities, The Bakhita Initiative JDPC Sokoto<\/strong> continues to promote sustainability, community ownership, and improved nutrition practices<\/strong>. This effort reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that every child in Kebbi State grows up healthy, well-nourished, and full of potential<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
