On 3rd December 2025, marking Day 9 of the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the Executive Director of The Bakhita Initiative (JDPC Sokoto), Mr. Daloegoet Williams, together with program staff, engaged approximately 400 learners of Holy Family Schools, Sokoto in a sensitization outreach on the topic \u201c\ud835\udde6\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf4\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf5\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf4 \ud835\udde6\ud835\ude01\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddf1\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddfb\ud835\ude01\ud835\ude00\u2019 \ud835\uddd4\ud835\ude04\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddff\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf2\ud835\ude00\ud835\ude00 \ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfb \ud835\uddda\ud835\uddd5\ud835\udde9, \ud835\uddd5\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddf9\ud835\uddf9\ud835\ude06\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf4, \ud835\udde5\ud835\uddf2\ud835\ude00\ud835\uddfd\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddf0\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf3\ud835\ude02\ud835\uddf9 \ud835\udde5\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddf9\ud835\uddee\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddfb\ud835\ude00\ud835\uddf5\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfd\ud835\ude00, \ud835\uddee\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf1 \ud835\udde6\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddf3\ud835\uddf2 \ud835\udde5\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddfd\ud835\uddfc\ud835\uddff\ud835\ude01\ud835\uddf6\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf4 \ud835\udde0\ud835\uddf2\ud835\uddf0\ud835\uddf5\ud835\uddee\ud835\uddfb\ud835\uddf6\ud835\ude00\ud835\uddfa\ud835\ude00.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session aligned with this year\u2019s theme, \u201cUnite to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The engagement focused on catching them young by equipping learners with the knowledge, values, and life skills required to recognize harmful behaviours, promote respectful peer interactions, and report concerns safely and responsibly. Learners were guided on understanding the different forms and consequences of gender-based violence, identifying bullying as a protection and wellbeing concern, and appreciating the importance of empathy, dignity, and positive social norms in their daily interactions. They were also introduced to confidential and child-safe reporting channels to ensure that any protection concern is addressed promptly and appropriately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By working closely with the school community, The Bakhita Initiative continues to promote safe, inclusive, and violence-free learning environments where every learner\u2014especially girls\u2014feels protected, supported, and empowered to speak out against any form of violence, whether offline or online.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
